This May we celebrated something crazy at Grupo Scala. The Asador O'Pazo was recognized as the second best new restaurant in Europe by the prestigious gastronomic guide Opinionated About Dining (OAD). Led by the brothers Manuel and Óscar Vidal, in the steakhouse we offer a careful and select grilled meat, fish and Galician seafood with zero kilometer vegetable garden products.
We are clear. The fire is the absolute protagonist. We use excellent raw materials prepared on the grill without rushing: “We put fire on things, not things on the fire”. Along with the menu, we also have the Rescaldo tasting meal, a dozen of dishes, from starters to desserts, prepared with great care where the embers are the main thread.
We are very grateful for this achievement that comes to recognize the family legacy. We are three generations who continue to offer a close and quality service in the group's catering options. This award is in addition to our Michelin star and two Repsol suns, highlighting our cuisine without artifices since 2000 with minimal intervention, where the sea and the land merge with the heat.
The Grupo Scala is now a ship, but it all started from the bottom almost half a century ago, with a small sailboat with Manuel and Elisardo at the helm, chefs who raised Hotel Scala to serve the demand in Padrón and the surrounding area. With the help of more than a hundred professionals, today we are a company that also includes the exclusive hotel Pazo Arretén and the restaurant Brandal.
